BOHINDI Ambassador Erin Casey

What are 3 words that best describe you?

Candid, Passionate, Independent

What do you consider to be your strongest characteristics?

I’m very motivated when I want to do something, and I try to create a vibe of kindness & happiness wherever I am.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Yoga, I play shows around Athens Ohio with some of my friends (I’m a singer), and I love going to concerts.

What are the top 3 items on your bucket list?

  1. Visiting Ireland (I’m super Irish!), Greece, Italy and France
  2. Save a life
  3. Practice yoga in Thailand

What is your dream job?

To be a NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) Nurse and watch babies get a chance at life to grow up and become something I helped them be in some way.

Who / what would you consider to be your spirit animal?

I would say my spirit animal is a bear. In many contexts they represent strength, introspection and spiritual journey.

What does jewelry mean to you?

Jewelry is a chance to express yourself in a way clothes can’t. Jewelry to me has always been personal, whether it was a gift from a family member, a significant other, friend or something you buy yourself, it holds sentimental value.

Tell us about your design style and the inspiration behind your piece.

I’ve always loved gold and turquoise together I think they create such an interesting visual appeal. I chose the antler because deer represent a plethora of meanings. Particularly I associate the antler with independence, new beginnings (deer antlers are shed and regrown each year), and deer are instinctual animals who trust their gut. Turquoise is also typically associated with spiritual grounding and intuition. The two symbols paired together make for a unique piece of jewelry open to a wide variety of interpretations.

If you could pick one celebrity to wear your piece of jewelry, who would it be?

Since I’m a big music fan, I’d have to say either Stevie Nicks or Norah Jones.

What is your favorite mantra?

“Embrace the current season of your life” The thing about life is that it is constantly changing. Staying grounded and embracing those changes are the best ways to approach life head on, fearless.
